CORY MILLER
Director, Account Management
Growing up, Cory aspired to play football for the University of Nebraska. Unfortunately, he injured his shoulder his senior year of high school and lost his scholarship offer to be a Husker. He decided to pursue that passion at the University of Kansas – Rock Chalk. Early in his freshman season, he hung up his helmet for good after yet another shoulder injury. Shoulder injuries became as common as Pequod’s pizza for dinner. He studied Economics and Spanish and spent three of his summers in Chicago interning. The Cubs and deep dish pizza helped convince him to move to Chicago permanently after graduating in 2004. Traveling, keeping an active lifestyle and of course, all things Chicago food, keep him happy and full.
Why I like working at Swing King:
Each day, I am surrounded by wonderful people who love dogs, guacamole and craft beer. On a serious note, there are brilliant people here that teach me something new each day. Collectively, the office environment, start-up mentality and vision of the company keep me excited to come to work every day.
Do you have a Hole-in-One?:
In a dream
I'd take a mulligan for:
Drinking the water in Acapulco
Most annoying thing others do on the golf course:
Excessive practice swings
Most memorable round of golf:
Kapalua Golf, The Plantation Course in Maui. Even though I shot 100, it was the most beautiful golf experience I’ve ever had
